Pantryworth

Meet Clara Whitmore

I did not create PANTRYWORTH because I had a perfect kitchen.

Home cook, list-maker and writer behind PANTRYWORTH

I created it because I kept buying good ingredients with good intentions, then reaching the end of the week with half-used vegetables, an untidy cupboard and no clear idea what to cook.

Where it started

Good ingredients. Good intentions. And the end of the week.

  • Half-used vegetables.
  • An untidy cupboard.
  • No clear idea what to cook.

So I began keeping a small notebook beside the pantry.

What I kept doingBuying for recipes.A new list for every meal, and the same shelf of forgotten food at the end of it.
What actually helpedCooking from the shelf.Noticing what was already there, and what it could become next.
Beside the pantry
  • tinned tomatoes, lentils, onionsin several meals
  • roast veg → soup, not sad leftoversgenuinely different
  • traybake week held up despite Tuesdaysurvived a change

Over time, the notebook became more useful than another collection of complicated recipes.

What I wrote down

Three things, week after week.

  • Which ingredients appeared in several meals.
  • Which leftovers could become something genuinely different.
  • Which weekly plans survived a change of schedule.

PANTRYWORTH grew from those observations.
